I guess I should declare that this blog is now over. I wrote again, but then apparently couldn't be bothered with it. Hopefully, my newest blog will be up soon, and may I make more time to actually write in that one.

So for today, Five Adjectives.

Just to keep in the intended spirit of the blog.

1) Cold. It's quite cold here in New Zealand. Winter and all that. See the next blog soon!!

2) Tantalizingly excited. By the possibilities here.

3) Small. Which makes it really great for me to curl up next to heaters.

4) Tan. Which means in the sun I get more tan. And I love it.

5) Getting skinnier. I can't wait.

Hello world! 
I'm not certain how to describe myself so I guess I'll just jump in...?
My intentions for this blog are as follows: to share the ideas I have, things I make, thoughts that occupy my mind, and to improve my perception of myself. That's why I've called this "Five Adjectives" each time I post, I'll include five (positive) adjectives about myself. 

Today, as I was thinking about this blog, I wasn't sure where to begin (I bet this sounds like a really typical blog right now, hm?). 
I started thinking about the things I learn from movies that I, along with many others, think are really silly. Which brings me to a list of my favorite movies and the things I've taken from them that are worth applying to real life. 

In Tangled, Rapunzel never cuts her hair, and at the end of the movie it all gets cut off. I love my hair more than anything else about myself. But getting attached to something isn't a great idea. Even though putting all your eggs in one basket is good because it means that basket is beautiful and full of love, if someone tips your basket over, you’ll lose all of your eggs. I guess this also applies to boyfriends. No matter how much you’re certain it will work out, letting go of your friends or family to focus on him ensures that if it doesn't work out, it'll be harder to pull yourself up again. 

In Ratatouille, Remy does what he loves. Despite people (or rats) attempting to smother his dreams and tell him that it won’t work out, he pushes forward. He continues to focus on doing what gives him pleasure. He isn’t greedy and doesn’t want money or fame…he just wants to cook. It’s so simple. Even though I’m not sure exactly what my passion is, that’s worth taking from this movie. Figure out what you want… and then go out and do it! 

From Shrek: I think what’s significant about Shrek is not that he found love despite being an ogre. Shrek was thrilled with his life at the beginning. He was perfectly content with how he lived—drinking eyeball-tinis by himself, taking mud baths, and scaring villagers. Recently I've  realized how important it is to be happy with just that. Me. Life is a solitary journey. We come in alone and we leave alone. And when people die, when people leave, or when people are taken away, I’ll always have myself. So that’s my goal. To be as happy as Shrek was pre-Fiona.
